RIVERVALE COURT RESIDENTS' COMMITTEE YOUTH CHAPTER
A Sub-group of Rivervale Court Residents' Committee
Who We Are
Rivervale Court RC Youth Chapter is the sub-group of Rivervale Court RC, who are committed to serving the residents of over 1,600 units in Blks 101-110 Rivervale Walk & Blks 116-117A-C Rivervale Drive.
Formed in May 2016, Rivervale Court RCYC has been committed to serving the community, in particular, bridging the bonds among the youths in our neighbourhood and providing opportunities for our youths to unleash their potential, so as to nurture the next generation of leaders.
Over the short span of 3 years, Rivervale Court RC Youth Chapter organised over 40 events and established three interest groups targeted in bonding the youth community together and harnessing the sense of belonging in the community.
Internally, we are committed to developing our youths to be more confident and inculcating them with more skills and knowledge, as well as widening their social circle as they will soon venture into an increasingly complex and integrated world.
Our Journey
The founding years in the first term has not always been a smooth sailing one, but we are glad that we bonded together as a team and took on any challenges positively.
We started out as a humble 5-members team and through our constant recruitment efforts, it has expanded to over 30 members and observers currently. This would not be possible if not for the youths that came forward in expressing their interest in wanting to be part of us.
Volunteering is effortful, unpaid, time-consuming and involves making sacrifices on family time and one’s social life. This is especially so, for our youths, where they need to strive a balance between school, work, family and friends commitments. We are appreciative for their selfless contributions, even at such a young age.
Afterall, we are united to one common purpose - which is to create a positive impact in the lives of our residents, striving to make our community a better place to live in.

A Divisional Effort
To encourage youth volunteerism and to inject new blood in the community, Punggol East Grassroots Adviser, Mr Charles Chong, and CCC Chairman, Mr Raymond Lye, BBM, encouraged all Residents’ Committees to set up their own RC Youth Chapter.
By end of 2017, all nine RCYCs were ready and are actively recruiting youths, aged 13-35, staying in the neighbourhood. Our RCYCs consist of youths from diverse backgrounds and age-groups, with a common goal of serving the community.
